The fantastic realm of Erdalan; destroyed long ago by the Death Knight armies... Erdalan was magnificent for one thing; its subterranean ponds whose bottoms were so rich in minerals that they produced gemstones almost spontaneously."

He sighed with longing, "We did what we could, but the Undead were simply too many. Erdalan was destroyed, and with it, its gem-producing lakes."

He handed Avery a handful of gemstones and turned his attnetion to his soup.

2006-11-20 [Kileaiya]: Kileaiya cocked her brow at the wood elf and shrugged, “Excuse me, bar keep?” She asked as she flagged the iron haired man down, “Could you please get me a fire water? It has been a long day.” She turned 'round to face the bar once more and let out a small huff.

With that said, Avery made his way over to the bar, where a young anthro woman had claimed his attention "What ho! I havna seen one o your kinda about fer a vera long time lass" he said as he poured a shot of fire water "Tha'll be three coppers my sweet"

2006-11-20 [moonscale]: Elysia entered and sat next to Kileaiya. She scowled at the flirtatious bartender and placed a single small coin on the table. "An Elderberry." she ordered curtly. "I've been thinking," she murmured to her neighbor. "There is something wrong with Elysia. I got this feeling that someone or something is affecting her actions, or maybe her thoughts. I think I would have detected an obvious curse, but I sense nothing of the kind. It may simply be something foreign to me. Have you noticed anyhing of the sort? It may be something subtler as well. As you yourself are a powerful magic user I thought you might have noticed something I missed."

I've been travelling long and hard; you did unto me a good deed, now I am in your debt. Name your boon and you will not find me ungrateful. As for unwanted attention, I can handle that very well." he patted the scabbard in which his sword rested.

2006-11-20 [Kileaiya]: Kileaiya winked at the roguish bar keep, and pulled out her coin pouch. “That’d be because you won’t find another one like me.” She said playfully as she pulled 3 copper from the purse and handed them over to Avery. She smiled at him before turning her attention to Liura. Kileaiya nodded at Liura, “She said she physically couldn’t rid herself of the diary, it seems like some type of persuasion. And she said she wanted to trust me, but couldn’t. It may be some type of lingering magic that effects her perception. She seems awfully paranoid at she refuses to entertain the possibilty that you will not hurt her.”

Avery chuckled as he poured a goldenberry wine for Luira. Then while waiting for the elf's reply he placed it before her and snatched up the coin she had left and bit into it, making sure it was genuine gold before tucking it away in his coin pouch.*

He took a sip of his coffee and removed his hood, revealing a scar runnign along his forehead, "Yep, there was lots of action in the Woodland Watchers back in the Great Undead Wars."

"Yes, much action indeed," she remarked, "I was kept quite busy. Too bad the pay wasn't as plentiful as the bodies."

2006-12-14 [The Red Baron]: "You know Undead cavalry? They can fight for weeks on end, they don't need rest, they don't need food, they don't know fear, they don't know pain, terrible. They cost me most of my friends." His mood turned sour, "Then suddenly, when that happens, all the spoils and victories in the world don't amount to crap."

2006-12-14 [Yuriona]: *Ranewen shrugged nonchalantly*

"I guess you did not have any clerics among your troops," she noted, "They could have easily turned or defeated Undead. even dipping your weapons in holy water would have helped." *She set down her teacup, laying her hand on the cloth wrapped object she had with her.*

"Still, they all end up in the ground as we all will some day," she stated flatly, "I have never understood those who place riches before their own mortality. It won't do much good other than to buy a fancier casket. Now if you will excuse me, I have a parcel to deliver." *She got up from the bar and moved towards the stairs to the upper levels of the inn.*

2006-12-14 [The Red Baron]: "Clerics? Nah! Never gave much thought to these matters," he said almost to no one, "Off you go, see to your business."

His thoughts went back to a better time, a time when Varastria was a happier land, when his friends were still above the ground. "Ashes to ashes and dust to dust," he said solemnly as he drained his coffee.

2006-12-15 [The Red Baron]: Alissius looks in her direction, scans her, then proceeds to leave, dismissing the idea that he saw in her familiar features, attributing it to tiredness.

2006-12-15 [Cia_mar]: *notices a person leaving.. he looked familiar and even had a fleeting look on his face that said so.. taking a chance Cia positions herself so that he will have to make a real effort to get by with out looking at her and asking her to move out of the way....all the time racking her brain for where she knew him from...*

2006-12-15 [Cia_mar]: *suddenly it comes to her... his voice, the accent.. *
"actually i do mind.. "she pauses pitching her voice to be heard only by his ears ..."that is no way to greet ones fellow Varastrian... no matter time of war or peace!"... *she softened her words with a smile hoping that he was who she thought*

2006-12-15 [The Red Baron]: Alissius cleared his tired brain, "Of course! The features! Everything is Varastrian about you!" his tone lightened, "War? We've not been at war for quite some time now. You obviously haven't been in Varastria for some time."

2006-12-15 [Cia_mar]: smiling she shook her head... "no i have not... i sort of got the wonderlust and took to the road as a gypsy of sorts.. it suited me though and i have learned much that i do not think i would have if i had stayed home" she looks at him questioningly " so th e war ended... how did it faire for us?"

2006-12-15 [The Red Baron]: "We won," he said proudly, "But the Undead allied with the red dragons, they took a terrible toll on our boys; especially in the Woodland Watch. In the end, we stood triumphant. Let every invader know that any attack on Varastria is painfully expensive, in lives and resources."

2006-12-15 [Cia_mar]: "i had many friend in The Watch when i was younger... "smiles sadly then shakes her head... "tell me what are you doing here in this place... have you too left Varastria?..." then takes note of his tired look... " or have i just interupted your date, with your pillow? " *she laughs softly tilting her head down, eyes shining with mirth*

2006-12-15 [Elisha Kelly]: *Avery shook his head at the impatience of the Elf and took it upon himself to interupt the conversation "Oi! you forgot ye room key, and no skirts up in the rooms, unless you pay fer a double!" He held the small room key out in front of him "Last door on the right straight from the stairs."

2006-12-16 [The Red Baron]: Alissius took the key, "Praised be He who never forgets." Returning back to the woman, he said, "Well, I'm just doing some travelling myself and at the moment I felt like crashing. I can hold out against sleep much longer if I wanted to."

2006-12-16 [Cia_mar]: Cia snickers under her breath trying not to laugh outloud...
"No m'lady, that will not be necessary though i would very much like a meal and a bed for later...and not his..." she smiles easily as she reaches for her money purse to pay

well for the most part it seems that things are good... for other smaller places i have heard rumors of trouble and unrest... it is hard to decern how much is rumor and which is truth... so i travel from town to town as a bard, learning what i can and sometimes it is good info, though *she smiles sneakily* for a good price i can tell a good "story" too

You can be a great singer or a serving wench it does not matter to me but you will remember that you are the crowned princess of Arien Fëfalas and that your legions are counting on you to return.Besides" he seid as he released her "I'm the best tracker go a head try to out run me."

Cia ends the song with Alexi left to search for his love through the snow laden forests, always searching, though never finding...

2006-12-18 [Cia_mar]: shudders... i do remember hearing tales of the undead... they were told to the gypsy children to keep them from wondering too far from the encampments.... there was one women, and older matriarch, that had only one hand... she would show the children that stump and say " now you better not go wandering... the undead will come and steal you... this is the only reminder i have from when they tried to take me as achild.. my father had to cut my arm out of their grip to save me"... the kids were very good after seeing that !
cia chuckled and yet still shudered a bit too from her own memory of the tale
